Application

Carbonate compounds also give off carbon dioxide when treated with dilute acids. Sodium Carbonate is generally immediately available in most volumes.

As we know, anhydrous sodium carbonate has no water molecules. It's just Na2CO3. - When the hydrated sodium carbonate is strongly heated, it decomposes into water and anhydrous sodium carbonate.
