ZINC PHOSPHATE LR
ZINC PHOSPHATE LR
ZINC PHOSPHATE It is commonly used for luting permanent metal and zirconium dioxide restorations and as a base for dental restorations. Zinc phosphate cement is used for cementation of inlays, crowns, bridges, and orthodontic appliances and occasionally as a temporary restoration.
Zinc phosphate is the most important phosphate cement and is widely used as “permanent” dental cement. It is also modified with silicones to produce dental filling materials. Compressive strengths up to 200 MPa are typical of these materials, which are formulated to have good resistance to water.
Zinc Phosphate. Phosphate coatings are used on steel parts for corrosion resistance, lubricity, or as a foundation for subsequent coatings or painting.
COMMON APPLICATIONS OF ZINC PHOSPHATE
- Oil & Gas Industry: Primer for critical components
- Defense: CARC primer. Non reflective finish for equipment.
- Automotive: Base for organic coatings.
- Aerospace: Break-in of moving parts and threads. Primer for aerospace primer/paints.
- Gears & Bearings: Holds lubricants on surface.
- Mining Equipment: Primer for fluoropolymer coatings.
Zinc Phosphate is a white, nonrefractive, corrosion inhibiting pigment used in protective coating systems. Zinc Phosphate exhibits a narrow particle size distribution: upper particle size limit of 10 microns, mean particle size 5 microns. This pigment has a high degree of versatility. It is a standard corrosion inhibitor for most high performance resin systems such as vinyls, chlorinated rubbers and epoxies. It is recommended for high acid value resins, catalyzed baking systems and vinylidene chloride latexes. Zinc Phosphate is also recommended for thin fi lm applications (1 mil or 25 microns).Zinc Phosphate is compliant to ASTM D 6280-98 Specifi cation for Zinc Phosphate Pigment Type I.
