THYMOLPHTHALEIN INDICATOR AR
THYMOLPHTHALEIN INDICATOR AR
THYMOLPHTHALEIN INDICATOR AR as a pH indicator and as a reagent for blood after decolorizing the alkaline solution by boiling with zinc dust.
Thymolphthalein is used in disappearing ink, to make color-change bubbles, and as a pH indicator. It has an inky blue color and readily changes to its colorless form from exposure to air or carbon dioxide from breath.
The target of this investigation is evaluating of the inhibitory activity of Thymolphthalein for acidic CS corrosion. Current study is based on CS with the following composition as weight percentage: C = 0.200%, Mn = 0.350%, P = 0.024%, S = 0.003% and Fe = the remainder.
Thymolphthalein is a white crystalline powder; the structure is rather similar to Phenolphthalein with the exception that the two phenol groups are replaced by two thymol groups
