Borax, Na2B4O7·10H2O is also known as sodium borate, an important boron compound, a mineral, and a salt of boric acid. Powdered borax is white, soft colorless crystals dissolve easily in water. Borax helps in laundry detergent work and many cleaning purposes. Borax converts some of the water molecules to hydrogen peroxide, which is whitening agent also enhance the action of bleach.
